As we approach the end of our fiscal year, I want to recap our accomplishments and plans for the future.

The first quarter of 2024 is moving ahead with strong performance, which continues the strong second-quarter performance of 2023. You will see actual differences in the numbers below from the Winnipeg Regional Real Estate Board’s MLS reporting at the end of March.

We find that our Individual members are some of the most engaged and active members of any membership category, and some of our most staunch supporters, whereas our condo corporation members and their unit owners are by far the most numerous of any membership category and the reason CCI exists.

So far it looks like it will be a good one, but don’t hold your breath.
 

We are now more than half way through our fiscal year at CCI Manitoba, so it’s time for me to evaluate our membership growth. While our membership numbers are up slightly from last year, they are still down from pre-pandemic levels. How to increase our membership numbers is a problem we have always struggled with.

Sales outlook bright for 2024

Condo sales ended 2023 on an optimistic note

Canadians everywhere, including Manitobans, took a pause on real estate last year. The main reasons were tougher interest rates and an overall preoccupation with reining in high inflation and wrestling with cost-of-living increases on essential items such as gas and food. It’s important to note, however, that the last five months of 2023 showed much better adjustment to what was happening, as three of the months after July outperformed 2022 in total MLS sales
