New possibilities for aging in place

If your condominium corporation has many residents that are seniors or retirees, you might want to look into an organization called the NORC Innovation Centre. They came to our attention while listening to a podcast from The Big Story, a daily Canadian news podcast. The episode wast titled "A solution to the crisis in long-term care". The NORC has also been mentioned in a recent article in The Walrus.

During the pandemic, conditions in long-term care homes made the news for all of the wrong reasons. Many seniors fear ending up institutionalized. Instead of sending people to institutions at the end of their golden years, the NORC approach facilitates providing the needed care and services in their existing home and community.

Well worth investigating if your condo corporation has a lot of seniors.

NORC stands for naturally occurring retirement communities and is run out of Toronto's University Health Network (UHN).
