Government of Manitoba announces rebate program for the purchase of electric vehicles
On July 2, 2024 Environment and Climate Change Minister Tracy Schmidt and Finance Minister Adrien Sala announced The Manitoba government's launch its new rebate program to get people revved up and thinking about buying an electric vehicle (EV). Click here for the news release.
The program details are available on the MPIC website Manitoba Electric Vehicle Rebate Program. The application process is as simple as 1, 2, 3.
- Purchase/lease an eligible EV from an authorized Manitoba dealership.
- Register your EV with MPI. Vehicles must be registered with MPI for at least 12 months.
- Apply online by submitting your application through the MPI website.
If your application is approved, you will receive an rebate cheque by mail within 60 days. However, submitting an application does not guarantee you will receive the incentive. The application will be reviewed for eligibility, and you will be notified by mail within 45-60 days.
