BC introduces new short-term rental registry

The Province of British Columbia has announced the launch of a new short-term rental (STR) registry aimed at increasing housing availability by targeting illegal rental operators. The initiative is part of the larger goal by the government to provide more long-term housing options for residents in the province. Should other provinces, including Manitoba, follow suit or continue with the municipality by municipality approach.
