Topic: Managing your loss prevention program
Many things can happen at your building that can affect the property and its owners. Getting the entire ownership onboard and being proactive in managing the potential risks can save the Corporation time and money in the long run. It will also make your building attractive to current and potential new owners.
A loss prevention program would generally consist of a loss prevention checklist, a reporting system for owners to report building emergencies and areas in need of attention, and a property management policy. Clear communication of the program to the ownership will increase the chances of participation and effectiveness.
Topics that will be discussed are Repair and Maintenance, Incident Handling, Building and Safety Code Considerations, Certificates of Insurance, Elemental And Weather-Related Risks (including Water and Fire), In Unit & Building Risks, and other Miscellaneous Risks.
