Membership Committee

This year, the Membership Committee’s focus has been to increase membership by at least 50 new members. With all the benefits CCI membership brings, this should not be difficult.

We aim to get as many condo corporations as possible to join CCI. There is a lot to learn and understand about condo ownership, and membership in CCI can help condo owners do that.

When a condo corporation becomes a member, all owners in that complex automatically become members. They just have to sign up with their email addresses.

Membership Committee members are Patricia Salam (chair), Kirsten Bishop, Mara Doctoroff, Alan Forbes, Audrey Harder, Doug Forbes, Seth Henoch, Duane Rohne and Kathleen Vandale.

Communications Committee

The Communication Committee continues to focus on the quarterly newsletter. Our volunteers remain essential to the News and Views newsletter and everything we endeavour. As committee chair, I have been privileged to work closely with each of our volunteers.

As my time as a director with CCI draws to an end, it is time to quickly review the year to date and where we may go in 2025. With the pandemic and inflationary pressures, we moved to a digital-only newsletter in 2023. Challenges remain with the newsletter’s production. We continually look for improvements in the newsletter’s look and production efficiencies.

With our AGM set for Sept. 19, we will elect five new board members to join our incumbent volunteer directors. The new directors will be a welcome addition to the team already in place. A new Communication Committee chair will need the support of our intrepid volunteers. If anyone wishes to consider volunteering with a great team of directors and volunteers, CCI Manitoba would be a great place to spend time with some of the best-informed and considerate condominium professionals you’ll ever meet.

Communication Committee members are Duane Rohne (chair), Maureen Hancharyk, Alan Reiss, Alan Forbes, and volunteers Pamela Pyke and Shelley Robertson.

AGM/Sponsorship Committee

The AGM/Sponsorship Committee organizes, schedules and co-ordinates CCI Manitoba’s Annual General Meeting and secures sponsors for our organization.

We continue planning the Annual General Meeting for Sept. 19 at the Norwood Hotel, which is the traditional venue for our annual meetings. We would like to include an “Ask The Experts” session as part of the meeting.

The committee also secures CCI Manitoba sponsors and sets sponsorship rates. The rates for the coming year will remain as is, with no planned changes to sponsorship rates or levels. We now have two Platinum, two Gold, four Silver, and four Bronze-level sponsors. Over the next few months, the committee will actively seek additional sponsors. We have also had numerous sponsors for individual events such as the AGM.

AGM/Sponsorship Committee members are John Popowich (co-chair), Kathleen Vandale (co-chair), Seth Henoch, and Connie Dame, a non-board member volunteer.
